Built From the Inside (BFI) is a trauma-informed emotional rehabilitation system designed specifically for justice-involved individuals. Created by Aaron B. Kershaw, and developed in collaboration with Dr. Jim Bostic, THD and Dr. Billye J. Jones, DSW, LCSW, BFI represents a next-generation evolution in peer mentoring, social-emotional learning (SEL), and narrative identity rebuilding.
This is more than a program. It’s a structured, compassionate, and clinically sound path to rebuilding identity, emotional control, and purpose from the inside out.

What Is BFI?
BFI is a 10-book curriculum series that guides participants through deep personal reflection, trauma processing, and reentry readiness. Designed for use in correctional facilities, reentry programs, and mentorship settings, the curriculum builds self-awareness, emotional regulation, and leadership from within.
