A CASEL-Aligned SEL Journey from Pre-K to 12th Grade

The BrightStart Discovery Series™ is a comprehensive, story-driven Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum that spans 55 books across four developmental levels; Pre-K through 12th grade. Fully aligned with CASEL’s core competencies and NY State SEL benchmarks, this series offers schools a plug-and-play, trauma-aware SEL solution built around engaging characters, reflection tools, and the consistent mentor voice of “Uncle Aaron.”
Structured around 15 core SEL themes (e.g., resilience, leadership, emotional regulation, digital citizenship), each theme is explored through three age-differentiated books: one for elementary, one for middle school, and one for high school. The 10 early childhood books (Pre-K to 1st grade) round out the collection with interactive art-based learning.
Each title includes interactive activities, Check-In™/Reset™ tools, pre/post assessments, and vocabulary aligned to Common Core ELA standards. With bilingual editions, inclusive characters, and adaptable implementation formats, BrightStart ensures SEL is accessible, culturally responsive, and deeply relevant for diverse classrooms.
